Energy Star tax holiday bill dies for the session

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our action alert Tuesday regarding HB267, the Energy Star tax holiday bill. Today, the bill was in committee, but the bill sponsor and committee leadership decided to take no action on the bill.

Because of the limited number of days left in the session, the bill effectively is dead for 2012. However, that doesn’t mean the effort to reduce our energy consumption in Alabama is over. Conservation Alabama will continue to work with the Joint Legislative Committee on Energy Policy to develop and pass legislation that will help consumers reduce their energy consumption and their power bills.

Thank you again for your attention to this issue. Stay tuned for more updates from this session over the coming weeks and as we prepare for the next session in the coming months.

Sincerely,

Adam R. Snyder
Executive Director
