Ask AL House committee to vote YES on Energy Star tax holiday
Our top legislative priority, establishing a state sales tax holiday on Energy Star appliances, will be the subject of a public hearing before the House Ways and Means Education Committee Wednesday. Please contact the committee today to ask them to vote yes on HB267.
Doing the right thing for the environment can get expensive sometimes. Some green products and Energy Star appliances can be more expensive to purchase, but save money and the environment over time. Financial incentives encourage consumers to make green purchases.
HB267 would establish a state sales tax holiday for Energy Star appliances. During the same weekend when the back-to-school sales tax holiday is in effect, you would not pay the state sales tax of 4 cents on the dollar for Energy Star appliances.
The House Ways and Means Education Committee is holding a public hearing at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 in Room 617 of the State House. Please contact the committee today to ask them to vote YES on HB267.
Deadline for responding:
