Alabama: Crimson, white, orange, blue, but not green

According to a study conducted by Forbes, Alabama ranks 48th in the country as far as being “green,” where Vermont, Oregon, and Washington topped the list.

What put us, yet again, at the bottom of a national survey of states? Our driving habits (and lack of mass transit), Alabama being a bastion for toxic waste releases and dumps, and our lack of energy policies.

Some of our neighbors didn’t fair much better on the list:

46. Mississippi
45. Kentucky
44. Arkansas
43. Tennessee
